Sonia Gandhi hints Rahul Gandhi may remain as Congress chief

New Delhi : Ruling out change in leadership in Congress, Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said that her son and party president led the election campaign fearlessly; she praised Rahul Gandhi for his brave attitude during the election campaign.

In her speech to Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) after being re-elected as chairperson, Sonia defended Rahul Gandhi – who offered his resignation as Congress chief after poll debacle.

"He demonstrated his fearless leadership by taking the Modi government head on," she said. 

In the same event, Rahul Gandhi assured that elected 52 Lok Sabha members will “fight BJP every inch, without giving this much and that applies to the member of Rajya Sabha as well." He added, the Congress will fight hatred and anger with "love and compassion".

With the speech of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, it is clear that no change in the top post of the party is coming in the coming days.
