Special Police Officer shot dead outside her home in Sophian
Srinagar : Terrorists shot down a special police officer outside her home in Jammu and Kashmir's Sophian district on Saturday. SPO Khushboo Jan was fired upon at close range around 2.40 pm in the district's Vehil village, about 60 kilometres south of Srinagar.
She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
"She sustained critical injuries and was evacuated to hospital where she succumbed. We condemn this gruesome terror act & stand by her family at this critical juncture," said the Jammu and Kashmir police.
The cops have launched the manhunt to arrest the terrorist.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the shooting.
