TDP MP creates ruckus at Vizag Airport, Airlines takes him on board

Hyderabad : A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP on Thursday created ruckus at Vizag airport after he was declined boarding on the flight for reaching the check-in counter late.

According to media reports, he also damaged properties at the airport. Like all other VVIPs, he was later accepted by the airlines for the same flight.

What makes it more controversial is the presence of Union aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju in the same VVIP lounge where this incident happened.

A report by the Times of India quoted a source as saying, "When VVIPs fly, their protocol (personal staff) come before hand to collect their boarding pass and inform the airlines about their tavel. On Thursday no such information was made available to IndiGo staff at Visakhapatnam airport."

When the MP reached the counter, he was told that the check-in for the flight had been closed. "He came less than half-an-hour before departure time. When told that check-in for flights close 45 minutes before departure time, the TDP politician got very abusive and restless. He entered the ticketing corner of IndiGo inside the airport and allegedly damaged some furniture and a printer there," said a source.

Last year also Mr Reddy had indulged in a similar incident at the same airport.
