The place where Chandrayaan 3 landed on Moon will be named "Shiv Shakti Point", "Tiranga Point" for Chandrayaan 2
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed ISRO scientists and announced name for the landing point of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon.
Hon’ble PM named it as Shiv Shakti Point and claimed that it will symbolize the connection of Himalayas to Kanyakumari.
He noted that there was proposal to name the point where Chandrayaan 2 touched the moon. But, the administration decided to name it only after Chandrayaan 3 successfully lands on the lunar surface.
Now, when Chandrayaan 3 has landed on moon successfully, it is right time to name the touchdown point of Chandrayaan 2. Since, Tiranga is waving proudly everywhere after the success of Chandrayaan 3, the point has been named Tiranga.
Tiranga Point on moon will be a testimony to the courage and determination that lead to the success.
On August 23, 2023, Chandryaan 3 successfully landed on south pole region of the moon. With this India has become the first country to do so and fourth country to land on lunar.
