Thunderstorm hits hard, kills 33 in Jharkhand, Bihar and UP

Lucknow : 33 people have been reportedly killed and hundreds have been injured after a massive thunderstorm wreaked havoc in Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

12 people have reportedly died in Jharkhand, the death toll reached 12 in Bihar and nine in Uttar Pradesh. Heavy loss of property has also been reported in several media reports.

IMD has also issued an alert for the places and have asked people to stay inside their houses till the situation gets normal.

“Thunderstorm accompanied with Rain/Squall/Hailstone is likely to occur today during next 3 hours over some areas in Hardoi, Sitapur, Farrukhabad districts and adjoining areas,” said the Meteorological Department.
