Transgender marries man in Bhubaneswar!

Bhubaneswar : Breaking the barriers of the society, a transgender got married to a man in India. The amazing thing happened in the capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar where a Megha, a transgender tied knot with normal man Basudev. 

Megha expressed her gratitude towards Basudev for such a bold step and said she ahs every right to get married like any other woman. 

The best part of the marriage was it an arrange one and Megha received the marriage proposal from Basudev’s family.  The duo tied the knot as per Hindu rituals.

Many people were present at the wedding ceremony including Bhubaneshwar mayor Anant Narayan Jena and media also covered the unique wedding. 

The groom was earlier married to a woman and had four children but later got divorced.

The Supreme Court passed a landmark judgment three years ago, recognising the rights of transgenders in the country.
