Chennai : More troubles mount for AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran after Delhi Police booked him in a case of attempting to bribe the Election Commission of India (EC) for the AIADMK's symbol.

The Delhi Police action comes after a middleman, identified as Sukesh Chandrasekhar, was arrested on Sunday night from the Hyatt hotel in Delhi.

At least Rs 1.3 crore has been recovered from Chandrasekhar, police said, which he was planning to use to bribe EC officials with.

"Dinakaran has been booked for criminal conspiracy, personating a public servant and corruption after Chandrasekar disclosed his name during a late night police raid at the hotel where he was staying," the senior police officer said.

Sasikala's faction adopted the hat symbol after the EC froze the two leaves symbol of the AIADMK acknowledging the split in the party.
