Kolkata : Two passengers at the Kolkata Airport shown positive signs of coronavirus during the thermal screening test, AAI told PTI.

A passenger travelling on SpiceJet Ltd's Bangkok-Delhi flight was also suspected of coronavirus infection at Delhi Airport.

The two passengers, suspected case of coronavirus, have been sent to isolation. Both passengers were sent to Beliaghata ID Hospital, airport officials told PTI.

Coronavirus had originated from the Wuhan in China and has killed thousands and left over 40,000 patients. The cases of coronavirus were also reported from around 24 countries.

Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak a global epidemic. WHO officials also asked to governments across the world to to prepare for“domestic outbreak control" if the disease spreads in their countries.

Several airlines cancelled their flight services to the virus hit China. IndiGo temporarily suspended its flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou till February 25. China Eastern Airlines suspended its flights between Kolkata and Kunming in China from February 10 to February 29.

"Foreigners who have been to China on or after January 15, 2020, are not allowed to enter India from any air, land or seaport, including Indo-Nepal, Indo-Bhutan, Indo-Bangladesh or Indo-Myanmar land borders," the DGCA said.
