New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to conduct a Narco test on rape accused Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Kuldeep Singh after his statements were found contradictory in the Unnao rape case.
During the interrogation, CBI gave him the same set of question at different interval of time and found his replies contradictory. Hence, the CBI team will now move court to seek permission for conducting narco and polygraph test.
BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh is accused of raping 17-year-old girl and conspiring to kill her father in the police custody. The CBI had arrested him on Friday. He will also be presented before the survivor for face-off on Monday or Tuesday.
Earlier on Sunday, Sengar’s woman aide Shashi Singh was sent to a four-day police custody. Shashi Singh, who allegedly took the victim to Sengar on the day of the crime, has been remanded to police custody till April 19.
The victim tried to set herself ablaze outside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence on April 8, claiming inaction in the rape case that took place in 2017. Later, her father was picked up by the police and allegedly beaten up in custody by the MLA’s brother Atul Singh and his aides, following which he died in hospital.
