New Delhi : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a report on the alleged incident where a minister's car crushed a five-year-old to death.

According to reports, a boy died after allegedly being hit by a vehicle in the motorcade of Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar in Karnailganj, Gonda on Saturday.

The CM has also announced a relief of Rs 5 lakh for the kin of the deceased and asked.

The minister was reportedly on his way to attend a function in Paraspur locality of Gonda when the vehicle hit Shiva who was playing on a pavement. The boy died on the spot.

Angry villagers then blocked the road in protest. The local police eventually convinced the villagers to lift the blockade.

“A vehicle from Om Prakash Rajbhar’s convoy hit him and he died on the spot. We have registered an FIR,” Vishwanath, the father of the victim, told media on Saturday night.

Om Prakash Rajbhar heads the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, an ally of the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh and a minister in Yogi Adityanath's cabinet.

Following a complaint by the boy's father, a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against unknown people for now. "The police is trying to find out who was driving the car. There is no pressure from anyone. The police will act in a proper manner," Gonda District Magistrate JB Singh said.

The minister has claimed that when the incidnet took place he was 25 minutes away in a differnet car.

Three weeks ago, in a video that went viral on social media, Om Prakash Rajbhar warned that parents who fail to send their children to schools will be locked up in police stations without food and water.
