UP CMO's Twitter account hacked

Lucknow : The official Twitter account of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has been allegedly hacked on Friday night. The hackers have made several tweets from the account.

The Twitter account compromise came to light after a series of tweets on a tutorial called "How to turn your BAYC/MAYC animated on Twitter" were published from the official account.

However, the account was restored within hours. But, by the time it was recovered people on social media took the screenshots, which are now trending.

Netizens shared the compromised Twitter account screenshots tagging Yogi Adityanath and Uttar Pradesh Police. Meanwhile, all the tweets posted by the hackers have been deleted from the account.

It is not the first time that a Twitter handle of a government department or an influential personality was hacked. Last year in December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal Twitter account was also hacked for a brief period.
