New Delhi : On Wednesday, speaking on the Uttarakhand Wellness Summit at Leela Palace in Delhi as the Chief Guest, Uttarakhand's Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj said that Uttarakhand state has immense possibilities to becoming the global capital of Yoga in coming years. He said, "The genesis of Yoga lies in this abode of god that is also the land of sages and saint. Besides tourism, Uttarakhand is emerging as a major destination for investment in the field of Yoga and Wellness sector."

In a road show of 'Wellness Summit' held in Delhi, the Tourism Minister encouraged entrepreneurs and investors to invest in the wellness and hospitality sector in Uttarakhand that imposes a large chunk of herbal and traditional medicinal prowess. 

He said, " There will be a boost to Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy with the help the untapped resources imposing great medinical value. Globetrotters visit Uttarakhand for peace of mind as well as it would also be a hoon for them to get exposed to the values and ethos of Uttarakhand."

The Tourism Minister informed that the government has sent formal invitations to the ambassadors across 25 countries for the proposed wellness summit in April. Before the summit, there will be a round table meeting with ambassadors in Rishikesh in March. Th summit will foresee the investment possibilities and policies in AYUSH, wellness, yoga, tourism and organic sectors in Uttarakhand. USA, France, UAE, China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia will be made country partners at the summit. The two-day summit will be inaugurated by the honourable Prime Mr. Minister Narendra Modi. The summit will seige an MoU with the entrepreneurs across the world to motivate investment in the above eight sectors, including wellness economy, wellness tourism, organic food and wellness products.

Smt Manisha Panwar (Principal Secretary) L Fanai (Secretary), Dilip Jawalkar (Secretary), SA Murugation, MD, Uttarakhand State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCUL), and the Managing Director for Industries Mr. Sudhir Chandra Nautiyal were present on the occasion of this road show in Delhi.
