Video: Gangster hacked to death in broad day light in Chennai

Chennai : An armed gang chased and hacked to death a gangster in broad daylight on a busy street in Chennai on Monday.

Victim, identified as J Vijayakumar, was returning after appearing in court when he was intercepted by the gang.

The whole incident has been captured on CCTV where Vijayakumar can be seen running for his life in a narrow pedestrian pathway and stumbling down. In a bid to save himself, the victim enters into a house but only the gang can be seen coming out.

By the time cops reached the spot, J Vijayakumar was already dead. Watch video: 

“Viji (Vijayakymar) was in Pavalathar street in Mannady, when the six-member gang intercepted him and picked up a fight. They attacked with machetes, hacked him to death and managed to escape. The incident got recorded by a CCTV at a shop on the street,” said a police officer.

The reason behind the murder has been suspected to be previous enmity.
