Kolkata : Cyclone Amphan rattled Kolkata causing an expected loss of over Rs 1 lakh crore, said CM Mamata Banerjee, tagging it to be worse than the ongoing coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

The cyclone, whose eye was about 30 kilometre in diameter, made landfall with gusting winds of up to 185 kmph and waves about 15 feet tall.

More than five lakh people were moved to safety in Bengal before the cyclone made landfall. Here are some of the videos shared by people on social media showing how devastating was the cyclone when it passed through Bengal.
