New Delhi : On Sunday morning, residents of Delhi and NCR witnessed heavy rainfall that damaged several properties across the national capital. A building in Delhi's ITO area collapsed, the dramatic video shot by people around it has gone viral on the social media as it is nothing less than a terrifying one.

Seconds before the building collapsed, the onlookers can be heard shouting and asking people to vacate the building.

Amid heavy rainfall, Delhi witnessed waterlogging in several low lying areas with traffic chaos. Traffic jams were reported from Azadpur to Mukarba Chowk, Yashwant Place to Ashoka Road, at Ring Road, Bhairon Road, and near Mundka metro station due to heavy waterlogging.


One death has also been reported after a man got drowned under the Minto Bridge. A 56-year-old man died due to drowning after his mini-truck was submerged in water under the Minto Bridge.

The cops suspected that he died due to drowning as no external injury marks were found on his body.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city recorded 74.8 mm rainfall till 8:30 am.

Ridge, Lodhi Road, Palam and Ayanagar weather stations recorded 86 mm, 81.2 mm, 16.9 mm and 12.2 mm rainfall, respectively, it said.
