Muzaffarpur : Rising water levels in Burhi Gandak river is creating troubles for low-lying areas in Muzaffarpur; many cities and villages have been flooded with water, pushing locals to buy boats for local transportation.

News agency ANI shared a video from the area where people can be seen commuting via boat to get the basic amenities.

The video also shows how many vehicles are submerged in water as people wait to get some relief from the government.

Meanwhile, there are reports that boat owners have been charging extra money from people to give them a ride. Considering this people in an apartment purchased their own boat.

The water level in Burhi Gandak river has increased due to heavy rainfall in many parts of Bihar.

Following continuous rains in the state, there is a threat of flooding in the Bagaha area of East Champaran also.

Earlier, on July 7, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an aerial survey and took stock of the flood situation in West and East Champaran.
