Why Political parties are ignoring Divyang people in elections?

New Delhi : Election time is going on in the country. In the Lok Sabha elections, the political parties are pushing the heels to win each and every seat and blaming the other parties only. Between the conflicting atmosphere of political ideologies, Bharatiya Divyang Sangathan has urged all political parties, especially the ruling party-BJP ,that Divyang people who have three percent of the population should be made part of the political mainstream. The organization says that all political parties should give tickets to at least two Divyang candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.

Amit Kumar, National president of Bharatiya Divyang Sansthan, said that the first phase of the electoral process is going on, but till now no party has made any single Divyang candidate. If we put Divyang apart than so many 8th or 10th pass people have been made political candidates. With respected Modi ji at the helm of things ,why it is not possible that Divyang people who have more mental concentration, get a place in the mainstream of politics.

The National President of Bharatiya Divyang Sansthan said that, in this case the role of media becomes very important. The media should tell the country's leaders and the public that Divyang people are not less competent in politics and to give respect and authority by making them a candidate is the duty of all political parties of the country. All responsible citizens should raise their voices in this regard. Last month, the National President of Bharatiya Divyang Sangathan, Mr. Amit Kumar had a press conference in Delhi saying that instead of giving symbolic respect to Divyang people it is necessary to make them a part of the political mainstream. Then Amit Kumar asked to the Political Parties whether it is enough to give only a new name ‘Divyang’ to disabilities and handicapped? He said that today the leaders are fighting for the votes but they are not working to give tickets to 3% Divyang people and to give right to 10% Divyang Families. He said that Divyang people are not less competent in politics because they work with more concentration, they should get respect and right to enter in the mainstream of politics.

He said that in current there is no adequate arrangement for Divyang to be able to cast their vote respectfully. All voting booths must have ramps for easy movement of divyangs and elderly. In this is not done , political parties and the election Commission should be accused of violating the duties and rights of the voters.

Chairman of Bharatiya Divyang Sansthan, Amit Kumar has raised the issue of proportional representation to all the political parties. He said that this work should be done as soon as possible so that Divyang can say that not just our name but our life has also changed.

Bharatiya Divyang Sangathan has demanded for granting pension to the Divyang People, giving them Divyang card, freeing their education from primary to graduation giving free ration on the basis of disability percentage from the Modi government.
