New Delhi : For the first time in known history, a high-level probe has been ordered in a bus accident on Yamuna Expressway, directing the probing officers to submit enquiry report within 24 hours.

On Sunday night, a UP Roadways bus had fallen into a gorge along side of Yamuna Expressway. The accident had killed over 29 passengers and injured over a dozen.

The official reason behind the accident is not known yet. But, India Today accessed the initial reports which suggest it was due to the fault of the driver.

The media report said that the bus conductor, who survived the accident, told investigators that the driver had a nap for a while and he lost the control on his steering. Bus conductor was lucky to survive and he was the sole eyewitness of this heartbroken tragedy.

The driver had the meal just before this accident. Many of the passengers and the driver had had their meal near a toll plaza, but after few minutes this accident took place.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma specially flew to the tragedy site and met the survivors and the victims. He did not divulge the details of the report but said there will be some strong measures after the investigation report.
