Yashwant Sinha 'a puppet of Congress', says BJP

New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came down heavily on former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha by tagging him as 'a puppet of Congress'.

"Yashwant Sinha has formally quit BJP today. However, his latest viewpoints, as well as interviews on TV channels, did indicate that he was no more a BJP member rather a puppet of Congress. Though he has quit today, in his mind he had left the party long back," said BJP spokesperson Anil Baluni on being asked about Sinha’s exit.

Yashwant Sinha on Saturday announced his departure from the BJP. Addressing an event in Patna, he said, “Today I am taking ‘sanyas’ from any kind of party politics, today I am ending all ties with the BJP.”

He claimed that he is not going to join any political party but will keep fighting to save the democracy.

Hitting out at the Modi Government for the most unproductive session of the Parliament in the recent past, Sinha said, “I can say with full responsibility that the Indian Government did not let the House run. The Government did not care that the Budget session was being stalled as the PM did not call a single meeting with the Opposition to discuss their issues.”
