New Delhi : In a hasty and surprising move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday sacked his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav from his cabinet, who was a senior minister in UP Cabinet.

UP CM also sacked three other ministers including Narad Rai, Om Prakash, Shadab Fatima, Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, all of them close to Shivpal Singh Yadav, who is also the state unit chief of the Samajwadi Party (SP). Akhilesh also sacked Bollywood actress and Amr Singh’s close aide Jaya Parada as head of up film promotion organisation.

The recent decision of UP CM comes as a jolt to the efforts at truce between the two main faces of the ruling Samajwadi Party and it indicates the party is heading towards something big.

While addressing the meeting Akhilesh Yadav said, “I will carry forward Netaji's legacy.”

Highlights:

# Earlier, Ram Gopal Yadav's letter to Samajwadi Party workers declared Akhilesh Yadav as a clear winner and asked them to defeat the UP CM's rivals.

# "Jahan Akhilesh, Wahan Vijay," the SP supremo's cousin and party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav's letter read.

# Last month the turmoil between Shivpal and Akhilesh was witnessed by all when Shivpal submitted his resignation to Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh and Akhilesh.

# The move came after Mulayam Singh appointed brother Shivpal as the state unit chief, prompting Akhilesh to divest the latter of key ministerial portfolios.

# Later the SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav went on saying, “There is no rift between the two, and whatever misunderstanding is, would be resolved."

# Samajwadi Party is a family, there are no differences in the party. It is elections time, we should all come together and work," advised Singh to his party leaders.
