Bihar: Man beheaded for naming Town Square after PM Modi

Darbhanga : A 70-year-old man has reportedly been beheaded in the Darbhanga district of Bihar for allegedly naming Town Square as ' Narendra Modi chowk'.

Nearly, 40 to 50 men attacked the BJP supporter with hockey sticks and swords, leaving everyone in shock, said a family member.

"As a senior citizen, my father went to them to explain the situation but he was beheaded with a sword. When my elder brother intervened, there was a murderous assault on him," Mr Tej Narayan told the media.

He also linked incident with some evidence from the history. Mr Tej claimed that his brother was killed two years back for placing a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Times Square.

"The attackers were supporters of RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) who abused the Prime Minister," claimed Mr Tej Narayan.

The cops have started their investigation into the matter and have also recorded statements of some of the witnesses at the incident site.

"There is an earlier land dispute. A lot of factors are there," said Mr Ahmed, adding that "investigations so far have not found any link with the recent poll results".
