Breach in security at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's house, 3 cops suspended

New Delhi : Three cops have been suspended and a high-level enquiry has been ordered over the breach in security at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's house, Home Minister Amit Shah told Rajya Sabha on Tuesday (December 3).

Amit Shah was responding to the concerns around the security cover to the members of Gandhi family; he responded, the government has acted against the policemen and a high-level probe has been ordered as they do not want to take any chances in this regards.

He also explained how a Tata Safari managed to enter the Priyanka Gandhi's house without getting scanned through the security personnel posted at the gate. The Congress had expressed concern around the incident that has been counted as a security breach.

Shah said the incident was reported on 25 November.

Security personnel posted at Priyanka Gandhi’s residence had received information that Rahul Gandhi was going to come over in a black Tata Safari. Around the same time, another Tata Safari entered the complex. It wasn’t stopped because security personnel thought that it was Rahul Gandhi, who has unrestricted access to the house.

“It was a coincidence,” Amit Shah said.

Congress raised a strong objection to the incident and tagged it as a security breach, days after the Centre decided to degrade the security cover of Gandhi family from SPG to Z Plus.
