Lok Sabha Election 2019: BSP-SP seat sharing in UP; Mayawati gets 38 seats, Akhilesh settles for 37
Lucknow : In the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls, Bahujan Samajwadi Party will be contesting on 38 seats while Samajwadi Party will battle on 37 seats.A release signed by BSP chief Mayawati and SP president Akhilesh Yadav listed the name of the constituencies that the two parties are going to contest in the Lok Sabha polls as part of their alliance for the Lok Sabha elections.
The 37 seats in the SP quota include Kairana, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Badaun, Bareilly, Lucknow, Etawah, Kanpur, Kannauj, Jhansi, Banda, Allahabad, Kaushambi, Phulpur, Faizabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, and Mirzapur.
The BSP will contest from Saharanpur, Bijnor, Nagina, Aligarh, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Kaiserganj, Basti, Salempur, Jaunpur, Bhadohi and Deoria, among other constituencies.
Last month, both the parties had announced that they will contest the elections together in the Uttar Pradesh. The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), which had been in talks to join the opposition alliance in Uttar Pradesh, is expected to be given three seats.
