CBI initiates probe over supply of Chinese parts for India's Dhanush guns

New Delhi : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday initiated a probe over supply of Chinese parts for the manufacturing of India-made Bofors guns.

The Chinese parts were camouflaged as 'Made in Germany' for the production line of Indian manufactured Dhanush Guns (155mm) are the indigenised version of Bofors artillery guns that played a crucial role during the 1999 Kargil war.

Two firms -  Delhi based firm Sidh Sales Syndicate and unknown officers of Guns Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur - have been booked under the charges of cheating and enquiry by CBI.

In the filed FIR, CBI has mentioned that the supplier of ‘Wire Race Roller Bearing’ Sidh Sales Syndicate camouflaged bearings used in the manufacturing of Dhanush Guns by marking 'Made in Germany' tag.
