Lucknow : Newly elected Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday issued another landmark directive, asking Public Works Department (PWD) officials to make Uttar Pradesh roads pothole-free by June 15, 2017.

He issued the new orders during a review meeting of the Public Works Department (PWD) in the presence of deputy chief minister and state minister for PWD Keshav Prasad Maurya. CM Adityanath said completing project within time limit is his government's priority.

The chief minister also asked officials to make sure that contracts should not be given to the ones who have criminal antecedent and tainted record. He also claimed that if required the authorities can go for new contractors who have clean image. He also directed the officials to implement e-tendering in the department as early as possible. This would ensure transparency and help eradicate corruption.
