3 jawans injured as terrorist attack CRPF camp in Pulwama

Srinagar : 3 jawans were injured as 2 heavily armed terrorists attacked a Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, 30 kms from Srinagar.

The terrorists attacked with grenades and heavy gunfire before breaching the perimeter of camp of the 185 Battalion of the CRPF. The exchange of fire was underway till last reports.

As per media reports, the attack was carried out around 2:10 am at Lethpora. Officials said at least three CRPF personnel have been injured in the initial shootout.

Eight security personnel had lost their lives in a similar incident in August this year. The three terrorists who launched the suicide attack were killed after an intense gunfight that went on for over 12 hours.

Meanwhile, CRPF has issued an alert claiming similar attacks can be carried out at the other camps also.

“Fidayeen managed to enter Lethpora camp at 0210 hours. As per report two of our men got injured during initial intrusion from J&K Police Commando training area side. There is quite possibility of similar type of attack on other camp also” the CRPF said, according to the news agency.
