DUSU Election Results 2018: Counting suspended till further orders
New Delhi : Counting of votes for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections has been suspended for the day after a clash broke out between ABVP and Congress supporters.
The counting of votes was initially suspended for an hour after complaints of faulty EVMs; however, the officials suspended it for the day after objections by the students turned violent.
"We had proposed rectification of the faulty EVMs and resumption of the counting but the students were not ready for it. It was decided to suspend counting. A fresh date for the counting will be announced soon," an election officer for DUSU polls said.
Amid heavy police security, DUSU polls were held on Wednesday with a voter count of over 44 per cent.
Polling took place at 52 centres in the colleges. There are as many as 23 candidates in the fray.
