Karnataka Congress MLA hospitalized post 'friendly fight' with a colleague

Bengaluru : A Congress MLA from Karnataka has been hospitalised after a friendly brawl with one of his colleague in the resort.

Anand Singh, MLA from Vijayanagar in Bellary district, has allegedly had a brawl with another MLA from the same region, J N Ganesh.

However, some MLAs who were also residing in the resort refuted the claims of brawl in several media reports. Congress leader D K Shivakumar, currently minister in-charge of Bellary, and his brother and MP D K Suresh denied the reports.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he would need some time to understand the exact situation that led to hospitalisation of an MLA. He termed the brawl as a possible friendly fight between friends.

“He admitted himself to hospital due to chest pain and is being treated. There are no injuries caused by a fight. Anand Singh did not talk of a fight or being hit. He is under observation and will be discharged in a day,’’ Lok Sabha MP Suresh said after visiting Singh.

No police complaint has been registered so far regarding the matter.
