List of Prime Minister who hoisted flag at Red Fort more than five times
New Delhi : Every year, Prime Minister of India unfurls flag at the Red Fort, but there are some who got a chance to become PM of India but were not able to hoist flag at the iconic monument.
Here is a list of Prime Ministers with a number of times they unfurled Indian flag at Red Fort.
1: Jawaharlal Nehru - From August 15, 1947, to 1964, he unfurled Indian flag at Red Fort for continuous 17 years.
2: Indira Gandhi - From 1966 to 1977, she got the opportunity for nothing less than 11 times.
3: Manmohan Singh - Ex-Prime Minister of India unfurled flag for 10 times.
4: Narendra Modi: Current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has been hoisting Indian flag at Red fort since 2014 till date.
5: Atal Bihari Vajpayee - He is the only non- Congress Prime Minister who has unfurled Indian Flag at Red Fort for six times.
6: Rajiv Gandhi and Narasimha Rao unfurled Indian flag for five times each.
