Lok Sabha Election 2019: Congress announces six candidates; Shiela Dikshit to contest from Delhi

New Delhi : Three-time Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit is among the candidates Congress named on Monday for six of the seven seats in Delhi for the ongoing Lok Sabha Election 2019; this confirms that a tie-up with Aam Aadmi Party is no more a topic of discussion.

The list has been revealed just 2 days before the last date of filing a nomination in Delhi.

In a shocker to many senior leaders from Congress, the name of Kapil Sibal is missing from the list. A report claims that Kapil Sibal was reluctant on fighting a triangular battle with the BJP and AAP from his traditional seat Chandni Chowk.

Shiela Dikshit will be contesting the elections from North East Delhi. Her predecessor Ajay Maken will contest as the Congress candidate from New Delhi.

The other names of Congress candidates released today are Arvinder Singh Lovely from East Delhi, JP Agarwal from Chandni Chowk, Rajesh Lilothia from North West Delhi and Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi.

According to a report, Shiela Dikshit was given a choice to decide from which seat she wants to contest elections; and she opted north-east Delhi instead of East Delhi.
