New Delhi : A high voter turnout has been registered in the third phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2019 on Tuesday. Over 80% people casted their vote in Assam; while, the Election Commission calculated the voting percentage at 65.61% at 8 pm.

Voting was done for the 116 constituencies amid complaints of malfunctioning EVMs and a killing of a man outside a polling booth in West Bengal.

Election Commission officials in Delhi announced the poll percentage on Tuesday evening. They informed that polling percentage was minimum at Anantnag seat in Jammu and Kashmir; the seat saw only 13.61 per cent voter turnout.

With Tuesday's polling, the voting on 302 Lok Sabha constituencies has been concluded successfully.

In Gujarat, a turnout of 63.67 per cent was registered for the 26 seats. Key political leaders, including the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, casted their votes in different parts of the state. BJP president Amit Shah is contesting the election from prestigious Gandhinagar seat, from where veteran LK Advani used to contest elections.

The polling in remaining phases will be done on April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. The results for the Lok Sabha Polls 2019 will be announced on May 23.
