UP Polls 2017: Its PM Narendra Modi vs Akhilesh Yadav in UP assembly elections, says Survey
Lucknow : In Uttar Pradesh, people are definitely trusting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his tough calls, but they are also happy with the work of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, suggests a survey.
According to a survey done by the Centre for Study of Society and Politics (CSDS) in the first two weeks of December shows UP is facing a tough popularity battle between Modi and Akhilesh.
Times of India quoted CSDS, Kanpur, director Prof AK Verma over the trends Uttar Pradesh is showing for the two leaders ahead of Assembly Elections 2017.

"The strikes generated unprecedented support for Modi. The public in general credited the army for successful operation, some also appreciated Modi's decisive role in making it possible," says Verma.
"Projects like Lucknow Metro, Lucknow-Agra Expressway, new bridges, improved electricity situation are likely to attract the urban voter, while schemes such as free irrigation water for farmers; Samajwadi Pension Scheme, Kanya Vidya Dhan are popular with rural voters. Through this, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has earned a reputation for his commitment to development and clean politics," adds Verma.

Well, with time to vote getting closer, it will be interesting to see which of these leaders emerge out as the choice of Uttar Pradesh or some other political leader will take the lead to claim his power.
