PM Narendra Modi congratulates Jaya, Mamata for poll wins

New Delhi : Soon after trends cleared the air and ensured victory for Jayalalithaa and Mamata Banerjee in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal respectively, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up both the leaders to congratulate over the victory.

"Spoke to @MamataOfficial ji & congratulated her on the impressive victory. My best wishes to her as she begins her 2nd term," he tweeted.

"Had a telephone conversation with Jayalalithaa ji and congratulated her on her victory. Also conveyed my best wishes to her," Modi said in another tweet.

The tweets from Mr PM came soon after trends started showing sure shot victory of the leaders. Bharatiya Janata Party has also managed to gain majority seats in Assam. This is how the saffron party topples Congress’ three consecutive term journey in the North East.
