RSS to invite Rahul Gandhi for an event: Report
New Delhi : The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to invite Congress President Rahul Gandhi for an event next month in Delhi, said a media report.
The event has been scheduled for September 17-19. Other political leaders from different parties are likely to be invited for the event.
As per a source, quoted in the report, the event will be addressed by Mohan Bhagwat, who will speak about India of the future.
Interestingly, Congress had registered a deep disappointment over former President Pranab Mukherjee going to a RSS event in June. Now, it would be interesting to see if Rahul Gandhi goes to the event.
RSS is believed to be an ideological mentor of the ruling BJP and is a frequent target of attacks from Rahul Gandhi. In his latest comments made in London, the Congress chief said the RSS's idea was "similar to the idea of the Muslim brotherhood in the Arab world" and went on to draw parallels.
