Bengaluru : Politicians flouting rules is not a new thing in this country. The new culprit in the list is interim General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Sasikala Natrajan.

Sasikala Natrajan, who is currently lodged at the Bengaluru central jail, has till date received 14 visitors after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case.

Fondly called ‘Chinnamma’, she has openly flouted the jail rules by meeting 14 people in 31 days which is against the prison norm of 1 visitor in 15 days.

According to the jail manual, visitors are allowed between 11 and 5 pm but in Sasikala’s case, they were allowed to meet even beyond 5 pm. It also says two people can meet in every one month.

The jail authorities said that people have been visiting Sasikala every single day, thus violating the jail norm.

The 59-year-old Sasikala returned to Central Jail on February 15 to serve a four-year sentence upheld by the Supreme Court after she was held guilty of corruption in a two-decade-old wealth case.

Sasikala and her co-convict sister-in-law Elavarasi and nephew VK Sudhakaran were put in jail after Supreme Court refused to give them more time to surrender.
