Sasikala sacks Panneerselvam, appoints Palanisamy as new AIADMK leader

Chennai : AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikal on Tuesday expelled O Panneerselvam as a primary member from the party after Supreme Court restored her conviction in the Disproportionate Assets case.

She also appointed Edapadi K. Palanisamy as their leader of the legislature party.

The emergency move comes after the Supreme Court restored the conviction of Sasikala and two of her relatives in a case of holding disproportionate assets.

Sasikala was recently elected as leader of the AIADMK legislature party so that she could become the Chief Minister in place of Panneerselvam.
