Signatures of MLAs misused for oath taking ceremony: NCP's Nawab Malik

Mumbai : Attacking Ajit Pawar, who took oath as Deputy CM of Maharashtra on Saturday, NCP leader Nawab Malik said that the signatures have been misused. According to him the party had taken the signatures from MLAs for attendance which was later misused.

"We had taken signatures from MLAs for attendance, it was misused as a basis for the oath," Malik told reporters in Mumbai.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy CM.

BJP, with 105 seats forged alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party which bagged 54 seats to garner the majority figure.

Sharad Pawar, on the other hand, said that Ajit Pawar's decision to support BJP is his individual decision and not the NCP's.

"Ajit Pawar's decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision and not that of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). We place on record that we do not support or endorse this decision of his," Sharad Pawar tweeted.
