'Victory of Dharma': Sadhvi Pragya over Bhopal seat winning trends
Bhopal : BJP candidate Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal Madhya Pradesh secured a comfortable lead against her nearest rival Digvijaya Singh of the Congress.
She said her victory of Digvijaya Singh, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, would be a "victory of dharma" in Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency.
"People have shown faith in me. I thank them for reposing trust in me. It will be a victory of dharma (righteousness) over adharma (impiety)," Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur said in her brief interaction with mediapersons in Bhopal with her supporting shouting chants of "Jai Shree Ram" (victory to Lord Ram).
Bhopal seat was crucial in the election as Bharatiya Janata Party had lost power to the Congress in the state after 15 years in 2018.
Bhopal Lok Sabha seat has been a BJP stronghold in Madhya Pradesh. No other party has won Bhopal Lok Sabha seat in the last 30 years.
Polling in Bhopal was conducted on May 12, when the votes were cast for the second last phase of the Lok Sabha election.
