War of words end, PM Modi shakehands with Manmohan Singh

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his predecessor Manmohan Singh on Wednesday greeted each other with a handshake as they met at an event to mark the 2001 parliament attack anniversary.

The two leaders crossed path outside Parliament before entering the house to pay tribute to nine people who lost their lives in the attack.

The leaders met amid massive controversial allegation posted by PM Narendra Modi on his predecessor of meeting Pakistani officials to influence ongoing Gujarat Assembly Elections.

Congress Party has rubbished all allegations made by PM Modi at an election rally in Gujarat.

But the sharpest rejoinder came from Manmohan Singh, who said the Prime Minister should apologise to the nation for "falsehoods and canards".
