Hyderabad : With the "Global Open Access Week" scheduled to be celebrated next month, Hyderabad-based Omics International has invited the academic and research communities to join the Open Access movement.

It urged the community to share what they have learned and help inspire wider participation by making Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.

Global Open Access Week is a global event in its 10th year, and will be celebrated from October 22 to October 28.

The annual event, conceptualised by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) since 2008, is aimed at inspiring more people to join the Open Access movement.

Open Access (OA) writings are digital, virtual, free of charge and unrestricted of most copyright and licensing constraints. What makes it promising is the internet and the approval of the writer, said a statement by Omics.

The OA system provider aims to celebrate the 10th International OA Week with a reinforced commitment to make excluded voices in the scientific community to be inclusive. Several activities are planned on this occasion for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.

Srinubabu Gedela, Founder and CEO at Omics International announced, announced special recognition for articles processing for the manuscripts submitted during the Open Access Week.

With the support of Human Proteome Organization (HUPO), Gedela founded the Omics to make healthcare and scientific information Open Access. These OA journals perform peer review and then make the approved contents freely available to the ecosphere.

Omics publishes more than 1,000 open access journals in the fields of clinical, medical, pharmaceutical engineering and managerial science in association with over 1,000 academic associations. The readership/ viewership of Omics journals has crossed 50 million in 2018.
