Kochi : Sending out a strong message that tourism in the flood-battered Kerala will be back on the rails, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), the country's largest tourism sector conclave of stake-holders from across the world, will be held here from September 27 to 30.

KTM is a public-private sector collaboration and it also serves as a forum for meaningful interactions with international buyers and sellers engaged in the tourism industry.

The tenth edition of KTM is being held at a time when floods have caused huge loss to the tourism sector of the state. The KTM will showcase to the global industry that Kerala tourism is alive and kicking again.

"The response to this edition of KTM has been overwhelming with 395 overseas and 1,095 domestic buyers having registered as participants," said Baby Mathew, president, KTM Society.

The new products launched by the state government such as the Malabar River Cruise project, focusing on nine rivers in north Kerala, will be showcased before the delegates.

He said 1,000 rooms have been booked in top hotels in the city to accommodate the participants coming from 73 countries.
