Madrid : Atletico Madrid held their final training session Friday ahead of the Spanish football club's upcoming La Liga clash against neighbouring team Getafe.

Head coach Diego Simeone led the practice which aimed at prepping the Los Rojiblancos players for their Saturday clash with the Gefafe Azulones, reports Efe.

The practice included right back Juanfran Torres, forward Diego Costa, and defender Lucas Hernandez, among others, as documented by an epa-efe photographer.

Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic was cleared on Friday by the club's medical team to take part in the Getafe game after being sidelined on September 7, when Kalinic sustained a right ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Colombian defender Santiago "Santi" Arias, who had sustained a fractured rib in international play in a friendly against Venezuela, seemed to have advanced in his recovery, as Santi made some exercises and showed good signs of recovery.

Atletico Madrid is still awaiting the full recovery of Montenegrin defender Stefan Savic, who sustained a severe muscle injury while on international duty with his national team at the UEFA Nations League, and of Spanish winger Victor "Vitolo" Machin, who has been out over a knee injury.

The Los Rojiblancos are due to meet Getafe at the Azulones' home stadium, the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in Getafe, Spain, an industrial suburb of Madrid.
