Firm owner held for molestation

New Delhi : The owner of a private company was arrested on Sunday under the POCSO Act for molesting a young woman complainant, then a minor, on various occasions during training in computers in west Delhi, police said.

"We have registered a case of molestation and assault or use of criminal force against the woman with the intent to outrage her modesty under the Indian Penal Code and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against accused Dinesh on the woman's statement," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said.

Police said the complainant, now aged 18, stayed with an NGO in west Delhi's Kamla Nagar. She narrated her ordeal to a career counsellor on Friday when she was asked why she had discontinued her training at the private company after only three months.

"The victim disclosed that Dinesh, owner of Speagle Corporation, molested her on various occasions and indulged in vulgar talks. He also called her to his office in the absence of other girl trainees and touched her inappropriately," the FIR said.

The complainant had joined the firm in April to train as Office Executive.

"We arrested Dinesh from his residence in west Delhi on Sunday. We are questioning other girls to ascertain whether Dinesh indulged in similar behaviour with them also or not," the officer added.

The complainant had been lodged with the NGO since July 2015.
