France's Digne pens 5-year deal with Everton

Barcelona : France left-back Lucas Digne has signed a five-year contract with Everton after his two seasons with Barcelona, the English side announced on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old underwent his medical tests on Tuesday, a day after he left Barcelona's pre-season tour in the US, reports Efe.

"Everton is a big club with a great history," Digne said, according to the Toffees. "I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.

"I am not afraid, I am excited. For me, it is a new challenge to discover a country, a league, people and a great club such as Everton. It is fabulous," he added.

Digne played 45 matches during his spell at the Catalan club, with which he won La Liga title last season.
