GoC-in-C Northern Command visits LoC in Rajouri

Jammu : General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command of the Indian Army Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh on Thursday visited forward areas on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district to review security on the border.

Defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said here: "Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander Lieutenant General Saranjeet Singh, visited forward areas of Rajouri Sector to review the operational preparedness and the prevailing security situation.

"During the visit to the sector, the Army Commander was briefed by the commanders on ground about the current operational and prevailing security situation and the preparedness of the formations in dealing with the same.

"The Army Commander also interacted with the soldiers and complimented them for their dedication to duty and high standard of professionalism."

Colonel Anand added: "He was appreciative of the measures and standard operating procedures instituted by the units and formations in their area of responsibility.

"The need to be prepared for effectively meeting emerging security challenges was also reinforced. He exhorted all ranks on the need to remain vigilant to counter the nefarious designs of the inimical and anti-national elements."

He said the Army Commander was also updated by the White Knight Corps Commander on the current security situation and operations conducted in the recent past.
