New Delhi : An upcoming solo exhibition of unique art furniture and paintings will serve to remind art lovers of the sublime aspects associated with little things in life that despite making a regular appearance in our day-to-day life seldom catches our attention.

Titled "Keepsakes", the exhibition has been conceptualised by internationally acclaimed artist Manisha Gawade, and is curated by Alka Raghuvanshi, a senior pillar of the contemporary art world.

"Keepsakes is a path breaking, first of its kind exhibition of art-furniture and paintings that complement it -- both an intrinsic part of living spaces. It has taken artist Manisha Gawade's many years of experimentation and tireless working to conceptualize, design and paint these art-furniture pieces that are designed to energize living spaces.

"They are an art connoisseur's delight and an interiors aficionado's fascination," read the curatorial note on the exhibition.

Manisha Gawade has spent many years in Dubai and absorbed the cosmopolitan favours of West Asian cultures. She has been an extensive traveller who has been trained in various forms of paintings in several parts of the world.

Her work is a fusion of the Indian as well as Western and Arabic culturescape.

Having held several solo exhibitions, she has been a part of nearly 124 group exhibitions in various parts of the world, including highly acclaimed shows on wearable art, like Ehsaas held at New Delhi, Painting a Thread held at Dubai.

Some of her masterpieces form a part of The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Argentina.

The show will be inaugurated by senior persons from the art and design world, Sunil Sethi, Niren Sengupta and Kuchipudi Guru Raja Reddy.

It will run from September 5 to 11 at Alliance Francaise Art Gallery here.
