New Delhi : Months before the Lok Sabha elections, the National Minorities Commission (NCM) has asked its state panels to facilitate implementation and penetration of various Central and state-level schemes. It also wants the beneficiaries to be sensitised about various welfare measures.

NCM Chairman Ghayoorul Hasan Rizvi saod on Friday that the panel will meet all the state-level minorities commission members and discuss how they could facilitate faster implementation of welfare schemes.

In the first of these meetings, Rizvi on Friday met Uttar Pradesh state minority commission Chairman Tanveer Haidar Usmani.

"It has been decided today that the chairpersons and members of the state minority bodies would visit each district in their respective states and analyse the status of implementation of various schemes. They would extend their cooperation in deeper penetration at the block level. They would also create awareness among the minority communities about the schemes," Rizvi added.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked ministers and MPs to reach out to the people and make them aware of the "good work done" as well as identify the bottlenecks.
