Odisha Congress MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria resigns
Bhubaneswar : Congress MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria on Tuesday formally resigned from the membership of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
The Koraput MLA submitted his resignation letter to Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat.
Sagaria had on October 30 announced his resignation from the Assembly on moral grounds, citing that he has not been able to ensure justice to the Kunduli 'gangrape' victim.
He, however, said he will remain in the Congress party.
Sagaria was elected to the Assembly in 2014 from Koraput Assembly constituency.
Notably, a minor girl of Kunduli in Koraput district had alleged that she was raped by four men in uniform on October 10, 2017. She later committed suicide on January 22 as she failed to get justice.
