New Delhi : A two-day group exhibition -- "Looking Beyond" -- presenting landscapes that compel people to look beyond their regular lives will be on view at the India Habitat Centre (IHC) here from Tuesday.

There will be over 40 works on varied mediums -- including oils, acrylics, new media, photography and sculptures -- by 30 artists on display.

The group show has been organised by the Art Pilgrim gallery and curated by curator-writer Suneet Chopra.

The name of the exhibition emphasises on a need to "look beyond" a daily routine and appreciate art.

Artists G.R. Santosh, Satish Chandra, Bikash Poddar, George Martin, Murali Nagapuzha, Shiv Lal Saroha, Tanya Mehta, Seema Kohli and Umika Mediratta will present their works with the central figure acquiring gravity in the composition, and the background only adding to it.

However, one can also spot an "alternative approach" in the exhibition, where formal qualities of nature are central, the curatorial note read.

It is evident in the works of Kaustav Jyoti Das Gupta, Surya Prakash, Paresh Maity, Ompal Sansanwal, Shabir Hussain Santosh, Zahoor Zargar, K. Jagjit Singh, and Niranjan J.

Artworks by renowned modernist F.N. Souza also find space in the exhibition.

Other participating artists include Sanjay Bhattacharya, Jayashree Chakravarty, Praveen Kumar, Gurudas Shenoy, Sachin George Sebastian, Rajendra Dhawan, Revati Sharma Singh, Parul Sharma, Biman B Das and Dhananjay Singh.

The exhibition concludes on Wednesday and will be remounted at Art Pilgrim's Gurugram gallery from Thursday.

It will be open for public viewing till September 30.
