Jaipur : Two men, identified as Anwar and Padhai, have been arrested in the case of lynching of a tribal, Khetaram, for his alleged affair with a Muslim woman in Barmer district of Rajasthan, police said on Wednesday.

The FIR was registered against 10 persons, including three women, after the man was lynched on July 21 night.

The accused were sent in judicial custody for seven days by a local court, said SHO Vikram Sandhu of Ramsar police station where the case was registered.

According to Sandhu, Khetaram had taken agricultural land on rent from its Muslim owner to set up brickworks. Khetaram allegedly had an affair with a Muslim woman from the family, which warned him to desist but he did not heed.

The police officer said the man's family claimed that he was beaten to death by a mob.

As Khetram belonged to the 'Bheel' tribe, a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was made out, apart from Sections 147, 148, 149, 365 and 302 of Indian Penal Code.
